The “Circuit Imprimé Francais Technodrill 2” (CIF) is a 2.5 axis milling machine. It is capable of milling/cutting parts with:

• File Formats: .DXF , .DWG , .NC , .TXT , .ISO , .PLT
• Max Dimension : 30cm X 29 cm X 1cm (X Y Z)
• Materials: MDF, Styrofoam (there exist multiple densities), High density Wax, ABS, Carbon Fiber, Wood, Aluminum

The CIF is equally capable of engracing “Printed Circuit Boards” (PCBs). To create PCBS we weuse:

• File Formats: .GBR , .NC , .DXF

Cependant, on utiliser principalement la format .GBR (Gerber) comme elle est la format la plus “standarisé” pour ce type de travaille.

However, we primarily use the .GBR (Gerber) format as it is a standarized format for the fabrication of the CIF and allows for the most amount of control of the fabrication process.

La machine est piloté par un logiciel “Galaad” qui permettre dessiner et généré la “Gcode” (Language compris par les machines CNC pour piloter les moteurs XYZ). Cependant, en generale nous ne modelisé pas utilisant Galaad. On vera que on utilise Galaad simplement comme un pont entre nos plans et notre CIF.

The CIF is controlled through an interface called “Galaad” which allows for basic design work and the generation of “Gcode” (A standard language used to communicate with the motors of a CNC machine). However, we do not generally use Galaad for it's design capabilities as it is far inferior to dedicated design software (see below). We use Galaad primarily as a “Computer Automated Machining” (CAM) software or a bridge between the design software and the CIF.

These softwares are professional grade within the professional world and is offered free for all students ici.

• Eagle

Tous les deux sont comparable et faite la même chose. La preference pour un contra l'autre est largement superficial. Si vous apprendre une avant l'autre, c'est probable que vous preferera celui ci!

Dans le cas ou un câble devient accidentellement débranché une schématique est donné. Tous les câbles sont marqué respectant ce schéma. En plus de ce branchement, il existe un Clefs USB qui doit rester brancher dans l'ordinateur qui contient la licence pour la logiciel Galaad. Ne touche pas ce clef!
